[USA] The AAA Five Diamond Hospitality Scholarship
Overview
AAA (the American Automobile Association) established the Five Diamond Hospitality Scholarship to honor one of hospitality's exceptional students. Each year, AAA selects one Foundation affiliated four-year program to receive the award, and the selected school designates the winning student. In 2007, AAA has selected the University of Nevada-Las Vegas as seventh annual recipient of the award.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum eligibility criteria for the nominee are:
- Enrolled in at least 12 credit hours for upcoming fall and spring semesters.
- At least a sophomore at the time of nomination.
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Must be U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident.
Scholarship Award
One $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually.Do not apply for 2008 academic scholarship or attempt to edit an existing 2007 academic scholarship. The Foundation will not review any academic scholarships reviewed between May 2 - December 31. If you are interested in applying for 2008 scholarship, you must do after January 1, 2008.
Application Process
The AAA Scholarship is School Nominated which means the student recipient will be nominated by the University of Nevada-Las Vegas this year. Students attending the University of Nevada-Las Vegas should request nomination for this scholarship through the principal's office. The student nominee must complete all sections of the AH&LEF Scholarship Application and publicity materials which must include a color photograph, a one or two sentence quote from the student stating what the scholarship means to them, a quote from the dean or director of the nominating school; and any additional publicity materials that may have been written regarding the student. Additionally, under separate cover, the University of Nevada-Las Vegas is required to send a transmittal form confirming its nominee. AH&LEF will not consider an applicant without nomination verification from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.Participating Schools
