Programmes for internationally recognised cutting-edge researchers
For outstanding academics at the peak of their careers. Award winners are invited to spend a period of six to twelve months on academic collaboration with specialist colleagues in Germany
Outstanding scientists and scholars from all disciplines from abroad whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had a significant impact on their own discipline and who are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements in future are eligible to be nominated for a Humboldt Research Award.
Award winners are invited to spend a period of up to one year cooperating on a long-term research project with specialist colleagues at a research institution in

Nomination Requirements
- The nominee must be recognised internationally as an outstandingly qualified academic (e.g. awards, positive responses to publications, etc.).
- The nominee's future perspectives must indicate that she/he will continue to be an active, academically influential researcher in the coming years.
- Detailed expert opinion by an academic working at a research institution in
- Expert reviews by important international and German collaborative partners and/or academics.
- The Humboldt Foundation assumes that candidates will abide by the Rules of Good Scientific Practice during the application and sponsorship periods.
